授業の目的・達成目標 【授業の目的】 This course emphasizes communicative evaluation and analysis. The overall goal of the course is to improve student ability to understand and produce extended discourse in English, especially in reading and writing contexts. Academic English vocabulary, recognizing and summarizing key points, critical thinking skills, and logical argumentation based on examples and evidence will be emphasized.

成績評価の方法 Grading:
Worksheets, summaries, and presentations are graded on a five-point scale (0-5), five being the highest. The rubric below is used.
5: perfect, grammar and content are 100% accurate and appropriate 4: very good, small errors in content or grammar or language. Language may not be level appropriate 3: good: the meaning is clear, but there are many errors in grammar and language is often inappropriate 2: needs work, errors in format, content, grammar are common and language often requires interpretation.
