授業の目的・達成目標 This course emphasizes communicative evaluation and analysis. Students in this course will continue to develop their skills in reading, writing, and speaking English in academic situations. Students will read selected academic texts, learn skills for understanding these texts, and develop written and spoken responses to them. 授業計画 授業計画 1. Course introduction The teacher will explain what you will learn in this course. 2. Features of academic writing Refresh your memory of what you learned in the first year and apply it to the manners of academic writing. 3-6. Structure of academic articles Examine what articles of science and technology contains. 7-10. Writing vs. presentation Academic articles and conference presentations are compared and contrasted. 11-13. Making a presentation Groups of three or four students will make a presentation using expressions thaw will have been learned in the class. 14 and 15. Giving a presentation Each group will give a ten-minute presentation in English.
After the fifteen classes, the final exam will be held during the exam weeks. 成績評価の方法 Assignments 50%, Final exam 30%, Activities in the class 20%. All the details will be explained in the class.
